A prominent result of this collaboration is Arne Hohlfeld, a Nordic combined athlete. He has been active in the Sohland Ski Club since childhood and embodies the shared values of MOOSMOOS and the club. Arne Hohlfeld literally grew up with skis on his feet. Even as a child, he followed in his parents’ footsteps. His parents have been active in the Sohland Ski Club for almost 40 years – including around 30 years as dedicated trainers. This family passion for winter sports shaped Arne from an early age and laid the foundation for his own sporting career. Through the close connection between MOOSMOOS and the club, Arne felt part of the Moosmoos family early on, which gave him additional support and motivation. The close bond between brand, club and athlete is based on shared values. These values include a burning passion for winter sports, the highest precision in preparation and competition, a deep connection to nature in snowy forests, and tireless promotion of junior and elite sports. The Nordic combined event combines the elegance of ski jumping with the endurance of cross-country skiing to create a true supreme discipline of winter sports. Even the take-off from the jump requires courage, technical precision and complete body control – for a magical moment, every athlete floats weightlessly in the clear winter air, surrounded by silent mountains. Hardly landed, it goes seamlessly into the track, where explosive aerial art becomes a tough fight against snow and cold: With burning muscles and icy breath, every athlete fights for every meter on his cross-country skis. Within a few moments, every athlete has to mentally switch from the adrenaline kick of the jump to the long breath of cross-country skiing – an enormous challenge also for concentration and psyche. This duality demands everything from every athlete; only those who combine strength, endurance and mental strength can succeed in this discipline. In no other sport are adrenaline and endurance so close together; no other competition requires such versatile skills. The Nordic combined event is therefore more than the sum of its parts – it is a natural experience and a sporting challenge at the same time. The snowy landscape becomes a stage for discipline and passion, the limits of body and mind are constantly being explored. It is precisely this fusion of flight and endurance run, of connection to nature and performance, that makes this unique discipline so fascinating.
