MOOSMOOS was honored with a special distinction: We were invited to give a lecture on our innovative, maintenance-free moss walls as part of Flowers4art®, which require no irrigation and are specially designed for outdoor use. Our approach combines natural aesthetics with practical solutions for sustainable urban design. In a personal exchange with H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, we had the opportunity to discuss how MoosMoos can help make Monaco greener. This conversation was particularly inspiring and underscores the importance of partnerships to promote green inner cities and ecology.
Invitation to Flowers4art®: Focus on Innovation and Sustainability
We are pleased to present you with exciting news from the world of art, sustainability and innovation: Flowers4art®, an inspiring new project sponsored by the Passion Sea Association, is setting new standards for creativity and ecological thinking in urban spaces. The project aims to make urban life greener, more sustainable and more inspiring. Flowers4art® is in line with the National Biodiversity Strategy (NBS) for 2030, which Monaco has implemented as part of the Convention on Biological Diversity. This initiative aims to have a positive impact on the environment and promote the protection of biodiversity.
Under the patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and Helga Piaget, President of the Passion Sea Association, the first edition of Flowers4art® took place on November 30th. This unique event combines art, sustainability and commitment to our planet. Helga Piaget, President of the Passion Sea Association, said: “Clean rivers, seas and oceans only exist if we change everything we do on land. Creating a healthier environment in our cities improves air quality. Everything is connected on our planet. The implementation of green walls in urban and interior design is not just decoration, as it offers a number of benefits. These walls help to lower outside temperatures and combat the heat island effect in cities. Flowers4art® Showcase would like to suggest the best practices for introduction in urban areas, paying attention to minimal water consumption and effective irrigation techniques. For cities like Monaco, it is important to have projects where vegetation beautifies the city while consuming as little land as possible.” MoosMoos is proud to be part of this important initiative and to present sustainable solutions together with other pioneers.

Since 1998, we have been leaders in dry floristry and have specialized in indoor and outdoor greening. Originally, our mosses were used in arrangements, bundles, and as Christmas decorations, but challenges quickly arose: The mosses dried out, lost their color, and disintegrated. To solve these problems, we began experimenting with preservation and dyeing and developed a unique Pressure Preservation Process Plus. This clearly distinguishes our moss walls, moss pictures, and moss carpets from the products of our competitors. Our first smaller moss pictures were created with a simple glue gun and a lot of creativity. Soon, small pictures became larger works of art, and we recognized the potential of moss as a versatile design element.
Why not cover entire moss walls, furniture, or panels with moss? Moss surfaces are not only visually appealing but also offer additional benefits for the indoor climate. Thus, a distinct area of interior design gradually emerged, and the MOOSMOOS Manufactory was born. Since 2017, we have grown continuously and now employ around 70 people in production, administration, and sales. With our locations in Germany and Spain, we serve customers worldwide and support interior architects, designers, indoor landscapers, and exhibition stand builders.
